WHAT TO EXPECT

We're excited that you took the time to learn more about us! Below are some common questions visitors have when they come to our church. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to email one of our pastors. We look forward to seeing you in worship!

What are the services like?
A normal service at Bethlehem lasts about one hour. We follow the historic Liturgy, which is printed for you in the worship folder (bulletin) that you'll get from one of our ushers. In the Liturgy, we sing a few hymns, hear God speak to us through the Bible lessons, listen to the sermon, and receive forgiveness of sins through the Means of Grace. Every Sunday we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion in order to receive the forgiveness of sins through Jesus' body and blood.

What should I wear?
There is no dress code at Bethlehem, so you'll find everything from suits to shorts. You'll never be turned away for what you're wearing! Most members wear business casual clothing in order to show respect for God.

Do I have to give any money during the offering?
Because the money given supports the work of Bethlehem, we don't expect our visitors to donate. Don't feel as if you are required to contribute; we're just glad to have you worshipping with us!

What about my kids?
We encourage children to attend worship with their parents since worship is for the whole family. If your child becomes restless, you can take him to the nursery area on the second level in the church, or you can just take him to the Parish Hall. You'll also find activity bags filled with toys to occupy your child during the service as you head into the church.

Where can I park?
The church has a parking lot on Wisconsin Street right next to the church, along with parking along Ontario Street.

What if I have trouble hearing?
We have a hearing loop installed which enables you to tune in if you have a hearing aid.
